Commercial HVAC Service in South Florida: Chillers, Cooling Towers, Air Handlers and RTUs

Big buildings run on big equipment, and in South Florida that equipment never gets a day off. Pacman HVAC Electric Fire services, repairs, retrofits and replaces the major HVAC equipment in commercial buildings across Broward, Palm Beach and Miami Dade: chillers, cooling towers, air handlers and rooftop units.

What we do

Our mechanical team works on the whole system, not just one box on the roof. That means chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, RTUs, condenser water and chilled water piping, and the control wiring and BMS that tie it all together.

Chillers and cooling towers. When a chiller plant struggles, every floor feels it. We troubleshoot and repair chillers and towers that are not keeping up, tripping or making noise they should not make, and we look at the plant as a system, because a chiller problem is sometimes a tower or water flow problem in disguise.

Air handlers. An air handler that is not moving the right amount of air makes a building feel warm and sticky no matter how cold the chilled water is. We repair and replace AHUs, including coils, fans, motors and controls.

Rooftop units. RTUs take a beating from the Florida sun, salt air and storms. We service, repair and replace commercial rooftop units, from single units to full roofs of equipment.

When equipment is near the end of its life, we design and build replacements and retrofits. Some owners need a full replacement. Others get more years and better efficiency out of an upgrade to what they already have. We tailor the design to your building and your budget, then install it with as little disruption to the occupants as we can manage. Since we are also a licensed electrical contractor, the power side of an equipment replacement stays in house.

Who we serve

This is major building equipment, and so are our customers. We work in hotels and resorts, casinos, hospitals and assisted living facilities, warehouses and commercial office buildings. These are places where downtime costs real money or puts people at risk, and we plan our work around that.

We also partner with general contractors and engineers on design build and bid projects that include new or replacement chillers, towers, air handlers and RTUs.

Areas we serve

Our shop is at 751 Shotgun Rd in Sunrise. We service commercial HVAC equipment in Sunrise, Fort Lauderdale, Plantation, Weston, Coral Springs and Pompano Beach, up into Boca Raton and Palm Beach County, and down to Miami and Miami Dade County. All of our work is in Florida.

Why Pacman

We have served South Florida since 1999 and we are licensed, bonded and insured. Our mechanical work is done under Florida HVAC license CAC1825204, qualified by David Saldarriaga, our GM of HVAC Service. Our electrical work is under EC13006438.

Major equipment work rewards experience and punishes guesswork. We know how to stage a job so the building keeps running while we work. We tell you what we see, what we recommend and why, and then we stick to the schedule we gave you.

Frequently asked questions

Do you service cooling towers as well as chillers?

Yes. We service and repair cooling towers along with the condenser water piping that connects them to the chiller. Looking at the tower and the chiller together is often how the real problem gets found.

Do you replace air handlers and rooftop units?

Yes. We replace AHUs and RTUs in occupied buildings, including crane lifts, curb adapters, ductwork connections, electrical and controls, and we start up and test the new equipment before we leave.

Should I retrofit or replace my equipment?

It depends on the age and condition of the equipment, how much cooling your building needs today and what the numbers look like over the long run. We will walk you through both options and give you an honest recommendation.

Can you replace major equipment without shutting the building down?

In many cases we can plan the work to keep the building operating, using phasing and temporary cooling where it makes sense. Every building is different, so we work out the plan with you before the job starts.

Do you work on the controls and BMS side?

Yes. We handle the control wiring and BMS connections, so the equipment and the building system talk to each other the way they should.
